I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Social and Public Policy at the School of Politics and International Relations at the Queen Mary University of London. My research lies at the intersection of comparative politics and public policy. I am interested in understanding how ideas, institutions and political competition shape welfare policies and which factors drive public attitudes toward the welfare state. Within the welfare state research, I have particular interest in health policy and politics.
I am the author of Health Reforms in Post-Communist Eastern Europe: The Politics of Policy Learning (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023) and a co-editor (with E. M. Immergut, K. M. Anderson and C. Devitt) of Health Politics in Europe: A Handbook (Oxford University Press, 2021).
My work has also appeared in various academic journals including Journal of Social Policy, Health Policy, Journal of European Social Policy and Social Policy and Administration. You can find out more under Publications and Research.
You can find my Google Scholar profile here.
I earned my PhD (in Social and Political Science) at the European University Institute, MA (in Social Science) at Humboldt University Berlin and BA (in Philosophy) at the University of Belgrade.
